Privacy Policy

Prism is a Chrome extension that automatically detects and filters sensitive content on video streaming platforms. This policy explains what data is collected and how it is used.

What we collect

• Anonymous install ID — a randomly generated UUID stored locally in your browser. It is never linked to your identity, account, or browsing history.
• Usage events — anonymised counts of events such as "session started", "blur shown", and "detection triggered". These include the content category (e.g. nudity) and severity level, but never the video title, URL, or any personal information.
• Video thumbnails — when Layer 2 (Gemini) analysis is active, a small JPEG thumbnail of the video frame is sent to our server for classification. No URL, title, or account information accompanies the thumbnail. Thumbnails are not stored.

What we do not collect

• Your name, email, or any account information
• Browsing history or URLs you visit
• Video titles or any content metadata
• IP addresses (beyond what is inherent in any HTTPS request)

How data is used

Usage events are aggregated to understand how the extension is being used — for example, which categories are most commonly detected — so we can improve accuracy and performance. No data is sold or shared with third parties.

Opting out

You can disable all analytics at any time from the Prism popup by toggling off "Share anonymous usage data". When disabled, no events are sent and any buffered events are discarded.

Data storage

Analytics events are stored in a Supabase (PostgreSQL) database hosted in the United States. Events are retained for 90 days and then deleted.
